1 June 2021 – Minutes of the Barlaston Parish Council Planning Meeting

7:15 – 7:30    Public Open Forum

A member of the public was in attendance and made representation with regards to Planning Application 20/33005/HOU at 19 Old Road.

7:00 – 7:15  Public Open Forum

1          Apologies – Cllr Adams-Elsmore sent her apologies; it was resolved to accept these.

2          Declarations of Interest – Cllr Hurst declared an interest with regards to 21/33908/REM.

3          Written applications for dispensations under the Localism Act 2011. There were no applications for dispensation.

4          Minutes of 11 May 2021 planning meeting were accepted as a true record.

5          Planning Application Reference 21/33908/REM at Plot to Rear 75 Longton Road Barlaston. It was resolved to reject this application on the grounds of inappropriate development in the green belt.

6          Planning Application Reference 21/33743/FUL at Land at The Hollies 61 Longton Road Barlaston. There were no objections to this planning application.

7          Planning Application Reference 21/34091/HOU at 15 Whitethorn Avenue Barlaston ST12 9EF described as Single storey rear extension, raise roof to existing garage and convert garage into utility room.

It was noted the Parish Council could only respond on the grounds of Planning Law and determined there were no objections to this application on this basis.  However, to address concerns of the neighbouring property, the Parish Council to inform the Local Planning Authority (LPA) to take into account Party Wall agreement issues.

8          Planning Application 20/33005/HOU at 19 Old Road Barlaston. It was noted a resident had emailed the LPA with a possible planning breach.  The Parish Council noted this issue would be dealt with via the LPA enforcement officer.  The Parish Council as a statutory consultee will respond subject to the item being resubmitted by the LPA for further consideration.

9          The entrance to the house opposite St John’s Church was deemed dangerous.  It was resolved the Clerk would raise the issue with Highways.

10        Item raised for consideration at the next Planning Meeting – Public Right of Way obstruction adjacent to 19 Old Road.
