Again this year there were large number of residents present at the War Memorial on Sunday morning to remember those from the village who had died in the two World Wars. It is clearly a very important ceremony for Barlaston.
There was a large police presence at the service which was appreciated but many people have expressed their surprise that there was no attempt to stop the traffic during the two minutes silence. The police did however provide full protection to the Boys Brigade both from and back to the Methodist Chapel.
