Tour of Britain

You will, perhaps, have already seen signs in the village indicating that the Tour of Britain cycle race will be passing through Barlaston 0n Thursday 13th September. The race starts in Trentham Gardens at 10.30am and will come down Old Road onto Meaford Road passing over the crossroads between 10.35 and 10.40. There is likely to be considerable traffic disruption in the period immediately before and after the race passes through. However the occasion will provide a wonderful opportunity to acknowledge the heroic deeds of Bradley Wiggins, Mark Cavendish and their colleagues. The organisers of the Tour of Britain event are expecting large crowds at the roadside.
